Using dialectical materialism as their methodological framework, the authors interpret the Cold War as a counter-revolutionary offensive by imperialism against post-war socialism led by the Soviet Union. Simultaneously, they view it as a resistance to national liberation, democracy, and progressive initiatives aimed at eliminating neo-colonialism and promoting non-capitalist social structures.
