Strange New Flesh was Colosseum II's first album, recorded not long after they formed in 1975. Over the years it has been regarded as probably their finest recorded work. Musically, it presented a much heavier and more Rock-oriented style than the earlier Colosseum, although rather less overtly HM-slanted than their immediate predecessor, Tempest.
