Franz Xaver Mozart: Complete Lieder
Jiayu Jin / Marius Bartoccini / Simone Pierini
Born months before his father’s death, Franz Xaver Wolfgang Mozart long remained overshadowed by his surname. This recording pioneers a complete survey of his Lieder on contemporary instruments, revealing a voice closer to Biedermeier intimacy than full Romanticism. First editions, improvised repeats, cadenzas and an 1822 Matthias Müller fortepiano aim to restore the musical language of his time.
