Black Jack
Art Blakey and his band The Jazz Messengers helped redefine jazz, offering a harder version of be-bop that is much imitated, but never bettered. Recorded in New York's famous Seventh Avenue South, this concert from 1982 shows off Blakey's distinctive style, as well as the talented jazz-fusion sounds of vibraphonist Mike Mainieri.
