Manic Street Preachers | The Holy Bible Live
In December 2014, Manic Street Preachers embarked on a tour of the United Kingdom, where they played their career-defining album "The Holy Bible" in its entirety for the first – and probably last – time. At concerts in Glasgow, Manchester, and London, James Dean Bradfield, Nicky Wire, and Sean Moore delved into the album's dark universe to mark the 20th anniversary of its original release and the band's legendary concerts at Astoria, which were played in connection with the album.
"The Holy Bible Live" was recorded over the three evenings the band played at the Roundhouse in London. All tracks from the original album were performed in their full, uncompromising form and are collected here as a perfect document of a band at a creative peak – and of their undiminished abilities as a live band.
The recordings on "The Holy Bible Live" were mixed by Dave Eringa in the months following the concerts. There are no overdubs – just the sound of a trio tearing through a classic album, accompanied by the unified voices of the audience singing every single word back towards the stage.
