The Wolfings' House is a fantasy novel that first appeared in 1889. This is the story of a Gothic Germanic tribe living in the Mirkwood forest and adoring Odin and Tyr. The tribe chooses two men, one from the House of the Wolfs and the House of the Laxings, to lead them into battle against their enemy. The Wolfings' leader is Thiodolf, a man with enigmatic and possibly divine backgrounds and whose leadership is being challenged by his majestic, unexplained possession of a dwarf-made postal shirt that is curse.
