When the whirlwind blows for a long distance, they are still in the house. When the house finally landed, Dorothy found her on a beautiful piece of land, where short, squat, weirdly dressed people lived. The witch in the north told her that she was in the land of Munchkins and thanked her for killing the evil witch in the east (the house landed on the witch), thus freeing them.
