Walden, and On The Duty Of Civil Disobedience (Annotated)
Henry David Thoreau
Differentiated book- It has a historical context with research of the time-This book contains a historical context, where past events or the study and narration of these events are examined. The historical context refers to the circumstances and incidents surrounding an event. This context is formed by everything that, in some way, influences the event when it happens. A fact is always tied to its time: that is, to its time. Therefore, when analyzing events that took place tens, hundreds or thousands of years ago, it is essential to know the historical context to understand them. Otherwise, we would be analyzing and judging what happened in a totally different era with a current perspective. Challenge, rebellion and resistance have been present, since ancient times, both in the creation of myths of humanity, from the biblical accounts of Genesis with Eve at the head, through Greco-Latin mythology (Prometheus), literary works ( Antigone, Lysistrata); even in history since the beginning of ancient Egypt, in the Middle Ages or Modernity. Of course, this story does not stay in the distant times but it crosses, with many examples, all the latitudes and geographies where human beings have been creating civilization. Disobeying established truths, challenging the powerful, rebelling against injustices, resisting domination, protesting arbitrariness, exploring beyond the limits set, transgressing the social order and many more similar actions have not only been an important part of our history
