Sherlock Holmes gets a cipher message from Fred Porlock, a pseudonymous agent of Professor Moriarty. After Porlock sends the message, however, he modifications his thoughts for worry of Moriarty's coming across that he's a traitor. He comes to a decision now no longer to ship the important thing to the cipher, however he sends Holmes a word telling of this decision. Hounded, Douglas had run to England, wherein he met and married his 2nd wife. Holmes urges Douglas to go away England and warns that a brand-new hazard now hangs over him. Douglas takes this advice, however rapidly after Holmes learns from Barker that Douglas turned into misplaced overboard at the vessel to Africa. Holmes believes Moriarty turned into liable for finishing Douglas' life. Holmes desires to deliver Moriarty down, however warns Watson and Barker that it'll take the time to achieve.
