In the middle of the year 2.004, a common day, the monotony of the nightly news was interrupted by a call made to the television channel, by the councilman of a municipality embedded in the farthest of the eastern plains of Colombia, to denounce that the criminals of the farc had taken the village and threatened to dynamite the whole town if they did not return the money. "What money?", asked the anguished presenter, "I don't know," answered the man, "they are saying that if we don't give them back the THREE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS they are going to blow up the whole town." The bizarre news, due to the absurdity of the money amount, had no transcendence and was lost among the many denunciations about murders, massacres, kidnappings, disappearances, extortion, and other crimes that were springing up daily in every corner of the country. Four years later, a young man who had been part of the self-defense groups told his father, while the father was visiting him in prison, that he had commanded a gang that ambushed and robbed a convoy of the farc with a money shipment, and that he was the only survivor who knew the exact place where the fortune had been buried. Months later, when the young man regained his freedom, he sought out his father to ask for his help in recovering that money, the father did not pay attention to the request, however, the events of the last two years together with the circumstances of the moment, which had hit the father hard, forced him to accept the request for help, and it is from that moment that this man began to undergo a series of experiences, adventures, and dangers that became the soul of this work.
