The Call of the Wild
Jack London
The Call of the Wild, novel by Jack London, serialized by The Saturday Evening Post in 1903 and later as one of the one-volume books by Macmillan & Co. the same year. It is often considered his masterpiece and is the most widely read of all his publications.the story goes that Buck, a very powerful dog, half Saint Bernard and half sheepdog, lives on Judge Miller's farm in California's Santa Clara Valley. He leads a warm and comfortable life there, but it comes to an end when men discover gold in Canada's Klondike region and the greatest demand for strong dogs was born, which were highly sought after for sledding.
