Prognostic value of Interleukin 8 in colorectal cancer
Jihene Ayari
Colorectal cancer is the fourth commonest cause of cancer death worldwide. Proinflammatory cytokines can promote tumor progression, invasion and metastasis. The aim of this study was to measure serum levels of circulating IL8 and its association with conventional clinical-pathological prognostic indicators of colorectal cancer in Tunisia. Serum samples were prospectively collected from a cohort of colorectal cancer patients followed at HMPIT. Circulating IL8 levels were measured with the two-site chemiluminescent enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (Immulite 1000, Simens, USA).
