This study was done in the Departments of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck surgery, Radiodiagnosis and Pathology, Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla, HP. In this study, 25 patients with head and neck malignancy on clinical examination irrespective of cervical lymphadenopathy were included. They were subjected to detailed clinical examination for any palpable lymph node. Later, they were undertaken for ultrasound and computed tomography. It was found that out of three diagnostic modalities used in this study, ultrasound had highest sensitivity which was followed by computed tomography. The accuracy of ultrasound was equal to the computed tomography.
