Jesus promised that the gates of Hell would be woefully impotent against the mission of His ambassadors, the church, manifesting the Kingdom of God in every earthly system. He promised that His church would have so much life in it that it would overflow. The salt and light or conscience and direction for society is what Christ intended His ambassadors to be. Instead, we have adopted the ideology and values of the political party which promises to meet our needs or carry our voice. The parable command, "Occupy until I return," is a military instruction. Jesus was saying, "Don't take sides; take over!" But instead of influencing society the church has imitated it.
