Based upon his study of the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke), the author makes it clear that Jesus was truly and remarkably human, but not God. In fact, Jesus himself denies that he is God. Nevertheless, the Church after three centuries of debate concerning the nature of Jesus, concludes that he is God, the Second Person of the Trinity, and declares such in the Nicene Creed. In the second part, the author illustrates how it makes no difference in religious value if a biblical narrative is based upon historic fact or just myth.
