The Battle of Berlin was the longest & most sustained bombing offensive against one target in the WWII. Bomber Command's Commander-in-Chief Sir Arthur Harris dispatched 19 major raids between August 1943 & March 1944 - more than 30,000 tons of bombs were dropped on Berlin. But the RAF lost more than 600 aircraft & their crews.
