The MacFays have discovered a way to stay clean and stable in their mental illness: sailing. They share its excitement and its comfort with their "roadies," the top students whom they hire to help with their concerts. One student in particular becomes especially close to the MacFays. Rebecca Levin is a young woman whose experiences at twenty are reminiscent of Michael MacFay's. She develops a strong attraction to Michael, and there isn't anything she wouldn't do for him. Her determination to win his affection puts an end to his recovery, and possibly everything he values.
