(Luke9:23) Celebrations and Challenges for Christians was written to help Christians appreciate and celebrate their many blessings and help them overcome their many challenges. Part I discusses Christian celebrations such as Advent, Christmas and Easter and explores national holidays such as New Year's and Independence Day from a Christian perspective. Part II considers how Christians can use the challenges inherent in topics such as "Accessing God's Power," "Witnessing for Christ," "Coping with Change," and "Growing in Adversity as opportunities for growth and service. The book is organized into fifty-four (one a week plus bonus) relatively short (1,000 to 1,200 words) devotionals which can be used in personal study and contemplation and as a basis of devotional talks at meetings of deacons, Sunday School departments, missionary societies, and other groups.
