Compendium of Unimplemented Recommendations As of March 31, 2013 U S Environmental Protection Agency

Publisher Marketing: Section 5(a) of the Inspector General Act of 1978, as amended (5 U. S. C. App. 3), requires each inspector general to issue semiannual reports to Congress and include "an identification of each significant recommendation described in previous semiannual reports on which corrective action has not been completed." The Office of Inspector General prepares the Compendium of Unimplemented Recommendations to satisfy this requirement. The Compendium highlights for the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U. S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board management those significant recommendations that are unimplemented 1 year or more past the date agreed upon by the EPA or the CSB and the OIG. It also provides a listing of all of the other significant recommendations with corrective actions that are less than 1 year past the agreed-to completion date or have future completion dates. This Compendium is being issued in conjunction with the OIG Semiannual Report to Congress for the reporting period October 1, 2012, through March 31, 2013. The Compendium helps agency management stay informed about the EPA's or the CSB's outstanding commitments, and its progress in taking agreed-upon corrective actions on OIG recommendations to improve programs and operations.
