Ivy May Bolton (1879-1961) was an Anglo-American Anglican nun and writer, who taught English and History in a number of schools and wrote a dozen historical novels. A Loyal Foe tells the story of the Wars of the Roses between supporters of two rival houses of Lancaster and York, whose heraldic symbols were the red and the white rose, respectively, for the throne of England.
