These two humourous books were originally published alongside each other in 1923. The first 'Say it with Oil' contains a number of humourous remarks regarding the habits and complaints of wives. The second 'Say it with Bricks' contains a humourous account of the habits and complaints of husbands. Ring Lardner, born in 1885, began his writing career as a journalist in 1907. Six years later, he published his first successful book, You Know Me Al, which earned him significant recognition. He then went on to write several notable works including 'Haircut', 'Some Like Them Cold', 'The Golden Honeymoon', 'Alibi Ike', and 'A Day with Conrad Green'.
