Henry Alexander Wickham
Sir Henry Alexander Wickham (1846-1928) is remembered for bringing the seeds of the rubber tree to Kew Gardens in 1876. This 1872 account describes his earlier voyage by river through South America, discussing rubber cultivation. In the second part, he recounts his time in Central America among indigenous peoples.
