Joseph Hume Spry
Bath physician Joseph Hume Spry (c.1779–1859) was concerned that the popular practice of 'taking the waters' had fallen out of favour, despite anecdotal evidence of its curative powers. He responded with this 1822 treatise, urging the use of the waters to treat a range of afflictions from gout to indigestion.
