Francis Leopold McClintock
Sir Francis Leopold McClintock (1819-1907) established his reputation as an Arctic explorer on voyages with Ross and Belcher. His expedition to discover the fate of Sir John Franklin found the written record of Franklin's death and other grim relics of his crew. McClintock's account was first published in 1859.
